Fixed Network Engineering

Wireless traffic is only between the wireless device and the tower antenna and are ultimately routed through a Wireline network. The fixed network (backhaul) interconnect facilities, which connect switching centers to Wireline networks carries the bulk of the traffic. The costs associated with new technologies and interconnection networks represent a significant portion of overall operating costs for telecommunications service providers. To serve its customers in this environment, VERSACOM uses its experience in design, optimization, specialized data networking and Internet protocol engineering to construct cost-effective and reliable backhaul interconnection solutions.

  • Continuously monitoring network performance
  • Periodically testing network elements
  • Tuning the network for optimal performance
  • Identifying elements that need to be upgraded or replaced
  • Providing high level reports to management
  • Performing functional and system drive testing, data analysis and interference control
  • Test plan development
  • Test and Integration of RBS 800/2000 series and LMUs
  • Frequency plan revisions
  • Equipment capacity expansion analysis
  • Interference control
  • Acceptance testing and hand-over analysis

RF Engineering

VERSACOM designs and deploys all components of the backhaul interconnect network.

VERSACOM engineers forecast the number of expected calls and capacity (mErlangs/subscriber in the busy hour), and provides the following design and deployment services:

  • Number of expected calls and capacity forecasts (mErlangs/subscriber in the busy hour)
  • Compliance to interconnection standards for the public switched telephone network
  • Equipment selection
  • Least-cost routing solutions
  • Interconnect and SS-7 signaling
  • Network configuration
  • GIS mapping design
  • Network optimization
